The facility is located in a high risk seismic area and is capable of storing 108,000 ft3 of fly ash. This job involved 2 separate 116’ tall slipformed silos with 45’ inside diameters. They were slipformed simultaneously and connected with a structural catwalk to provide worker’s full access to the slipform deck. (4) 18’-6” x 19’-0” openings allow truck traffic to pass through the facility at ground level. Each silo contained a 30” and 54” thick elevated concrete slab to provide an unloading floor and structural bin bottom, respectively.
