This project is a 41 foot diameter by 106 foot tall slip formed silo (single silo on left side of photo). There is a 33 foot high stainless steel-lined hopper (with two discharges) supported by wall pilasters and concrete ring beam. A concrete roof was constructed on the structure. The contract also included two bulk cement silos. [See Cement section for bulk cement silos]
J-Sons Inc. scope of work included the foundation to support the two 70 foot diameter by 121 foot tall silos. Each silo contains a stainless steel-lined hopper (each with three discharges) supported by rectangular columns and concrete ring beam. The top of the structure also has a concrete roof.
This project is three separate silos. Each is 54 foot diameter by 201 foot tall. J-Sons slipped the three silos simultaneously. Each silo contains a stainless steel-lined discharge hopper supported by wall pilasters and concrete ring beam. In addition to the silos, J-Sons’ scope of work included foundations and interconnecting roof with expansion joints.
This 52 foot diameter by 180 foot tall silo sits on a 72 inch thick foundation, also by J-Sons. The silo contains a stainless steel-lined ‘funnel flow’ discharge hopper supported by wall pilasters and concrete ring beam. The top of the silo structure has a concrete roof which supports a structural steel enclosure as well as a bent to support fill conveyor.
This project is a 52 foot diameter by 175 foot tall coal storage silo. The silo contains a 62 foot high cast-in-place stainless steel-lined ‘mass flow’ discharge hopper. The hopper is supported by a 72 inch thick slab and wall pilasters. The top of the silo structure also has a concrete roof supporting the roof equipment.
